Fabric Monster

So Christina over at Lambikins Hideaway had a spring cleaning event this weekend. Of course she tried to get me in trouble by expanding my stash! But luckily I was good- for the most part.

I managed to only buy 4 skeins of yarn, a pack of velcro, 8 fat quarters, and another 1.5 yds of fabric... on the first day.

But then I had to go back on Sunday. And of course, my wallet magically opened up and more stuff made it into my bag. 4 more fat quarters, 2 yds of tear-ease so I could transfer a few patterns, 2 yds of lightweight interfacing, 4 balls of Sundance cotton, oh and 7 skeins of Cool Wool for a new springy/summer cardigan thing I'm apparently making. Like I don't have enough projects already? But we all know I'm ADD when it comes to projects so of course I was happy to take it on.

So I got home last night and set up a cutting station for myself. I didn't end up cutting as much as I wanted but I did cut 3 more blocks for my block of the month quilt, the pillow fabric, and the wallie pattern on Tear Ease. I was slightly distracted by Jacob Black's inability to keep a shirt on to keep going. (Yes, I set up the station in front of the TV- Duh!)

So I suppose ya'll want to see the fabric goods right???

My lovely little cutting station:

Damage from Spring Cleaning sale... (all except the black star fabric- that's quilt block fabric!)

Awesome Amy Butler August Fields Home Decor fabric. 30% off!
These will become pillow covers for the living room. I love them!

Fat Quarter awesomeness. I have plans for these guys :)

Wonderful Batik fabrics that will become a "Yellow Brick Road" Quilt

I'll share the yarn goods later this week!
Happy Monday ya'll!

Ahem, Steph- I'm one of the RESTRAINED ones! It was hard but there was self control you have no idea! I saw multiple people buying literally hundreds of yards of fabric and bags and bags of yarn. It's an illness but it comes with the territory and we are all in support of each other in the fiber and fabric community :) Deals like this make us go crazy. (I mean seriously 30% off EVERYTHING and even more on other things!)
And let's not forget that Lambikins is my happy place- of course I need to bring some more happy home with me every now and then!

Back to Work 2010

It took everything I had not to throw my alarm across the room and stay snuggled up under the goosedown comforter this morning. The 20* reading on the weather channel certainly didn't help much either.

But it's back to work. Another 50 weeks in the office with some time off in between. Luckily I am some what looking forward to getting back on a schedule. Time off is great but I need structure.

At least I was productive while away. The house is spic and span (I LOVE the new Dyson!) and I finally got my craft room in order. Before and After pics will be up this week. I'm still deciding on paint colors but at least I went through everything and it is organized. This is a HUGE feat. Ask any crafter.

OH and might I mention that I love The Pioneer Woman Cooks cookbook? I have only made Egg in the Hole, Pie Crust, and Chicken Pot Pie thus far (all with incredible success!) and I love love love this cookbook. The Chicken Pot Pie will be a repeat performer but if I want P to eat it again I need to cook the bejeebus out of the carrots and celery. Apparently they were "too crunchy" for his liking- but he agrees the flavor was incredible. Cheers to the Pioneer Woman!!!

Okay, back to work.

Happy Weekend Ya'll!

Good Morning. We are setting out early today to tackle some more Christmas Shopping. I got quite a bit done yesterday but nowhere near done. Hopefully between the 2 of us, we can knock it out today.

The Christmas Knit night last night was a blast. Had great girl time and got some excellent new yarn! I've never tried Mini Mochi Before and now I can :) Now I just have to find a project! And of course, finish the other projects on the needles. Oh the life of a knitter. We've got it rough :)

Isn't it pretty?!?! I'm thinking a shawl, or a pair of socks...

Alright, I'm out- time to head to the mall!

Big Apple

Sorry for the lack of posts and picture recaps but I've been busy. No wait, I haven't been busy. I've been lazy. But that's okay because I'm jet setting off to NYC on Friday! Yes, I'll be exploring the city for the first time in freezing cold weather but I'll be loving every single minute of it. I'm meeting up with 3 of the most wonderful ladies in the world that I've known for about 2 years. And I'll get to do some networking and teambuilding with some of my other Cookie Lee sisters :)

(FYI- The new catalog is out! Check it out here- and there is also a new sign-up option for consultants interested in signing on! As always, let me know if I can help you!)

Also, I've started yet another blog. As if I've neglected this one and Panini Monday enough- lets just add a third! 3's company after all :) Anyways, it is solely for my crafty undertakings. Crafty Buckeye You can also find it on my blog list >>>>>>>>

I like Crafts

So some of you may know, and others may not know that I love being crafty. I may not be terribly great at it but I'm getting better. Specifically in needlework (Read: Crochet and Knit) Now I prefer Crochet to Knit because of the speed at which I can whip stuff up, but I prefer the look of Knit to Crochet. Such a conundrum. So as I have been teaching myself to knit over the last month or so I figure I would graduate from scarves and dishcloths to... drumroll please... a cardigan! Now I do not make swatches (blasphemy! I know) so I'm crossing my fingers and hoping that this hard work will actually be wearable. So far so good. It takes a terribly long time yet I find it so rewarding to create something and watch it grow right in front of me. Unfortunately, photos of my new cardigan will have to wait as it isn't much right now and I don't want you to be dissapointed.

In the mean time, Let me share some of my recent FO's (that's finished objects for all you non-crafty people)

My first knit dishcloth- yes that is a martini glass :)

Fat Bottom Bag- aka my tailgating bag! (took me 2 days)

I even lined it with a cute fabric and put a pocket for my cell phone!

Baby blanket for Lily

Puff Slouchy Hat

With a scarf to match

Baby Blanket for Luca

I've got lots of others in the works too!
