Thank you everyone for the thoughts and prayers. I just spoke to my mom and it was a rough night. He was finally put in a room late last night after spending the day in the ER due to no available rooms but he was frisky and didn't want to be there. I decided against going as I didn't think I could handle it and didn't want to be in the way, but I still called hourly to get updates from mom. He still doesn't know who anyone is but at one point did ask for some water and called out for "Bobbie" which is my Mama but he didn't know who she was. My mom also called me later on to say he was calling my name. She held the phone to him and I told him I loved him. He said "I love you too" and then that was it. I'm at least thankful that I got to tell him I love him and I hope and pray that he knew it was coming from me.
I'll be going over after work to see him and I'm hoping for the best. I guess they started him back on his meds last night so hopefully they will have some effect before I go in. I'm thankful that (it appears so far) that he is okay physically, just saddened that he doesn't remember us.
I really appreciate the prayers. I believe they are helping :)

Papa
Please pray for my Papa today. I just got off the phone with my mom, my papa had to be life squaded to the emergency room just now. My mama had to call them because he couldn't talk, wouldn't take his meds, wouldn't eat or drink, brush his teeth (he brushes like 4 times a day) and apparently hasn't really eaten since Monday. Mama would make funny faces at him and he would laugh but couldn't speak. I'm petfrified right now and could really use a bit of prayer to hold me together.
Please pray for Papa that everything is okay.

Sean and Natalie's Wedding!
Well, it was an exhausting but fabulous weekend. So exhausting it has taken till today to recover and be able to post just from the sheer exhaustion- and a bit of car trouble that we don't need to get into.
We left on Friday and headed up to Atwood Lake. It was back in the hills of North Eastern Ohio and truly a beautiful site for their wedding weekend. We made great time and were able to meet up with everyone Friday Night at the resort bar for some cocktails. (It was margarita night so everyone was happy about that surprise :) ) It was a great way to relax after the long trip up.
We woke up to overcast so no pool for the girls, but the guys were thankful since they were out golfing all morning. The 4 of us girls enjoyed a wonderful breakfast buffet and then took a walk before getting ready.

The church was a small Catholic church in a remote area but it was so quaint and peaceful, not to mention the sun came out, that it really set up a beautiful backdrop for Sean and Natalie's special day. Their wedding was the longest ever by far, topping in at over an hour. The bride looked beautiful and the happiness the couple was feeling radiated throughout the room.
They left the church in a swarm of bubbles and drove off in a hot red convertible!
We ended the night with some outstanding (read: terrible) renditions of Journey and Meatloaf classics as it was Karaoke night at the resort bar. Oh lucky people. We did notice it started to clear out when we got on the mic!
The cocktail hour was wonderful, it was just cool enough that it wasn't uncomfortable and we could sit outside. What a beautiful view!
The dinner and reception was wonderful. We saw a slideshow of Sean and Natalie courtesy of her sister Jamie and there were emcees to walk us through the night. Apparently it is a Canadian thing. (Sean is a Canuck) There were cute Canadian and American flags at the bars and even a Canadian/American dance off.

Overall it was a fantastic weekend wrapped up by brunch with the bride and groom on Sunday and then the looong trip back home.
I wish Sean and Natalie the best of everything as they begin their new life together. (They are in Mexico right now so I'd say they are off to a great start!!!)
Oh and did I mention the hallways creep us out.... Shining anyone?

Tiger Tiger Tiger Woods Ya'll!
Well, 25 isn't so bad afterall. Turned out to be a good day. (other that the working part but that's to be expected right?) I got my birthday present from P when I got home. He is so great. I really don't give him any ideas or suggestions because from my standpoint, I already have pretty much everything I need and/or want. (wow that sounds really spoiled but you know what I mean) But P's whole thing with gift giving is it must meet 2 criteria. 1. Giftee must at some point have stated they would want it or hinted towards it being something neat to have. 2. Something the giftee probably wouldn't buy for themselves for whatever reason. That being said, I have mentioned multiple times that I have fun going to the range with him. P is a golfer. He loves it, hates it, loves it again. And we do go to the range on occasion and I will hit balls with him using his clubs. Well, no more my good friend! I give you.... my birthday present:
These lovely beauties are real life women's clubs! Graphite shafted and lighter than the steel shaft clubs that P has. And they are purple! Oooh the icing on the cake is oh so sweet. Granted they aren't the primo madonna Pings or Big Berthas or whatever overpriced ridiculous sticks that are out there but they are perfect for me (and according to P great to figure out if this is a phase or not) and I love them! And even better, they happened to be cheaper than what he thought so I get some accessories! Thats right, I'm super excited about golf tees, balls, golf gloves, hand towels, umbrellas, oh yes- and the lessons with the golf pro that I'm going to be taking! Sure I've gotten better- I can actually make contact with the ball almost everytime but we shall not revisit the big blowout when P first tried teaching me and I ended up sitting in the clubhouse while he hit the rest of the large bucket that we purchased. Our relationship almost ended there. I kid. I have the sweetest husband and I'm so thrilled with my birthday present I am already looking forward to going to the range after work today to swing them around for reals!
And they have a backpack type thing that I can carry them with on my back to make it easy for me- oh and see the legs?! I won't have to lay it on the ground and get it dirty!!! yay!
Woods, Irons, Putters, Oh MY!

Happy Birthday to Me
Well, it's official. As of 6:17am this morning I am in my mid 20's. Yes, I am "quarter of a century and more than half as hold as (my dad)" according to the text message I got from him this morning. I'm not quite sure how I feel. I mean sure, I'm looking forward to my birthday dinner at BD's Mongolian BBQ tonight. And I'm happy that I managed to survive another year of crazy- because life wouldn't be very much fun if it wasn't. But at the same time it is bittersweet. I think it is probably safe to say that I am an adult now, not necessarily by choice but the age doesn't lie. But then again age is just a number too right?
Gone are the days where I can stay out all night drinking and partying on campus. Well, I probably could but then I wouldn't be going to work the next day or the day after that. So long to the days of not much responsibility and the freedom to do pretty much whatever I wanted. I've got bills to pay, a husband to keep, and a new phase of life to begin. Perhaps that is a bit of a thrill. I don't know where I'll be in 3 years, other than 28 and almost to a mid life crisis probably. No in all honesty, turning 25 can't really be a bad thing at all. I'm still young, I've still got my spunk and personality and most importantly I'm happy. I know they say that once you hit 30 you are fully comfortable with yourself and know who you are, well if that's the case then I'll consider myself about half way there and use the next 5 years to just be me. Whoever that is.
I mean hey, at least I'm going to save a bunch of money on my car insurance now :) and I didn't switch to Geico to get it.
So here's to 25, I'll raise my glass to that!

Summer Shindig 2008- Success!
Well, all in all in was a fabulous weekend. Granted we are all extremely exhausted and I'm sure some are still hoping to rid them selves of the nasty hangovers that showed their faces on Sunday morning but nonetheless, Summer Shindig 08 may have been the best yet so we should all be looking forward to 09 already!
I'll save the stories and just share the day in a few pictures.
Though I will need to note that it was approximately 95* outside (hottest year yet!) which quite limited the accesibility of the cornhole and cups games. Luckily there was plenty of time for all of that given that our galavanting lasted till the wee hours of Sunday morning so hopefully everyone had their fill of indoor activities as well. And I'm sure Patrick has had his fair share of grilling for the year also! But he did a great job and noone has gotten sick due to undercooked hamburgers or chicken- so far anyway!
Some crucial people were missing in this years festivities but we managed to pay a respectable homage to them with festive smoke bombs.
And it it extremely important to note that there was a Cougar sighting! Although not victorious in their tourney, they were able to grace us with their presence because we are just good peoples(or maybe it was just for our awesome grilling skills) Either way, they enjoyed themselves as well and were a great addition to this years festivities!
I'm already looking forward to next year.... I'm thinking T-Shirts.

Summer Shindig
So this weekend marks what has become the Third Annual Summer Party in Cincinnati. We started the year we bought the house, only 2 short months after moving in and decided it was time to break it in right! We invited the Columbus Crew to come down and spend a weekend with us. (Hopefully convincing them to move here to- didn't work) It turned out to be a great weekend of cornhole, drinking, grilling, and general good fun with friends. Of course the night progressed into the typical college party (since we can't seem to escape it) and a rousing game of flip cup and beer pong were in order. We bid farewell to everyone until the fall and looked forward to another summer party a year away.
Last year we had a night in Newport (Hofbrauhaus visit of course!) and then returned home the following day to repeat the previous years activities. Great memories, (some bad, but we won't go there) but overall a great time had by all yet again. So since we are attempting to host again for the third year in a row I would say that this has now become annual. I have some last minute shopping to do tonight and finish cleaning up the house.
We have some early arrivals tomorrow for a round of Golf with Patrick and Katie is coming early for some quality girl time! (I wish she would move back!) Then Saturday we are expecting hot weather in the 90's but it should be perfect for a (hot) day outside kicking back. Plus, this year we have a new addition to the family- the Wii! We are well equipped with Mario Kart, Guitar Hero, and Sports- along with 4 fully charged remotes that are ready to go! We also have some new friend additions here in Cincinnati that are looking to attend the awesomeness! I'm hoping this year's is the best yet! (it also happens to be the start of my birthday week so of course I'm looking forward to it!

An Introduction... sort of
Well, it's about time I gave this whole blogging thing a whirl. A real effort rather than random postings about random things. Hopefully this will grow into an outlet for our friends and family to get updates on us and keep up with our life in Cinci. Who knows, maybe it will evolve into something that others will want to read. One can only hope.
At this point in our lives, we are a newlywed couple of a little over 9 months. We are settling in nicely to the married life (not too difficult considering we have been together almost 7 years!) and at this point not looking to start a family any time soon (Sorry Mom) but we have a crazy cat to keep us busy in the meantime. We were fortunate enough to purchase our first home 2 years ago in my hometown and are going about doing all the typical suburban couple-y newlywed type things. But our most favoritest things to do are visit our great friends that we have left behind in Columbus. Everyone's lives are changing and it is wonderful to have such awesome people that we can call our friends. Heck, without them "we" wouldn't be "we"!
