Memory Lane
While looking through an old box of photos, my dad found something noteworthy for our trip to Pittsburgh this weekend.
Iron City
The hubs and I packed up on Friday and headed out to the Iron City for the weekend to visit the fam. A pit stop to pick up Connor and we were on our way. It was our first trip out and long overdue. We didn't have much planned for the weekend so the boys got to golf on Saturday and we headed down to Station Square to check out the incline and the view of the city. We wrapped up Saturday night with dinner at Primanti Brothers- squee! It was delicious! Of course I'm sure my diet didn't appreciate it but my taste buds did! It was a short weekend full of family time, wrestlers, and sightseeing, but I'm glad we had a free weekend to go visit and that the weather was nice too make it even better.

Happy Birthday Papa!
Today is my Papa's 86th birthday. We are going to celebrate by surprising him with cake and ice cream. He has alzheimers and tends to forget things sometimes but of course he remembers his birthday! He doesn't know we are all coming so I'm hoping it will be a pleasant surprise. Of course there will be cake. Chocolate cake. With Chocolate frosting. Yes, I made it last night and almost couldn't resist poking a finger or 2 in the top of it. But I resisted. I've also adorned it with 48 peppermint striped candles- Sorry there aren't 86 Papa but I'm sure the nurses will be much obliged to not have to pull out the fire extinguisher tonight!
Update: The surprise went well. He had no idea we were all coming to visit! The chocolate cake was a big hit. Luckily I didn't have to bring any home. My waistline can only take so much cake you know what I mean? No fire extinguishers were needed so that was a big relief.
Eggs and Babies
We spent the last weekend in Canton for another short trip. Luckily the weather was bright and crisp so the ride was quite enjoyable. The twins were still cute as pie and baby Luca is getting big! We witnessed/participated in our first Easter Egg dyeing attempts with almost 2 year olds and it went surprisingly well. Only minor freak-outs, and 1 egg casualty but fun was had by all. Dye spillage was minimal but quite entertaining! They are talking up a storm and really growing in their adorable personalities. Emme is finally wearing her bows! and oy- she looks adorable. And Cade's curls? Yep they are still there... they are everywhere!
