Well, hopefully the crickets have been keeping you all company. I've just not had the motivation to update due to my lack of pictures to post along with. Pictures just make it better don't you agree? Anyways, it was a busy weekend as usual.
We attended Germania Society's Oktoberfest on Friday. Had a wonderful Mett, Sauerkraut balls, Potato Pancakes, and a phenomenal Bavarian Cream Puff. I know I know, seriously? Okay I shared.... 1 pancake and the Cream Puff, but the rest was mine. All mine. Saturday was K's bachelorette party and it ws madness. Great fun was had by all. And I must note that I may be bad luck when it comes to certain things... the last limo I was in happened to be on my wedding day and it spontaneously combusted and decided that we should carpool to the reception instead. Well, Alisha strikes again! We ended up with 2 limos on Saturday since the first one decided to poop out on us. But we can all laugh about it and rest assured that great memories were made and the bachelorette lived it up on her last night in style!

We're Back!
Phew! What a week, what a trip! All are back in one piece (for the most part) and are now getting back to the daily grind. Oh joy, Oh bliss.
Florida was good to us, for the most part, keeping most of the tropical storms away but sending upon us the Florida Flu from Hell. Most of us fell victim though I'm still claiming that I came out unscathed. And Britt being the overacheiver that she is decided to show us all up with the most ridiculous battle with said flu this side of the Mississippi!

Papa Update
Well, it's been a pretty busy week around these parts. My apologies for lack of blogging but I've been running around like a crazy person and haven't really had much time.
I went on Monday to visit Papa in his new "home." I was very nervous to see him in his new surroundings so my Aunt B was able to meet me. When we went in I could tell he didn't quite know who I was but he was polite and said hello. After we had been there for a little bit it all clicked and he asked me about work and things going on. It was just really sad to see him struggling with words and getting confused on who was who and what was what. Though he was a trooper and fought through it. My cousin Wink came over and brought his new baby boy over for a visit. I had not seen the new baby yet and he is so cute! Papa got to hold him (with some help) and it was beautiful to see his eyes light up and look so happy. Overall it was a nice visit, a good "first" visit if you will and I'm confident I will be able to keep visiting and be okay. Mom did suggest that I read up a little bit on the disease to help myself understand a little bit more and I'm going to do just that. I think of it as if I were in his shoes, I would be scared and lonely and not know what was going on so seeing familiar faces who love me and know a little bit about what I would be going through would make all the difference in the world.
Plus, someone needs to bring him chocolate cake and cherry pie since he does not think too fondly of the food he has had so far. I think "edible... but not good" were his exact words, along with a yucky face.

Papa
Oy Vey, it's been a bit since I have updated but I've been super busy and have lots to update from the last 4 days so I will break this out for you. How thoughtful of me right? I know. Your welcome.
So I went to visit Papa after work on Thursday and much to my surprise he was the same ole Papa I know and love. He knew who I was and immediately pulled me down to give me a big hug and kiss. The visit went extremely well, he ate a big plate of food and an enormous piece of chocolate cake. Sure, he was a little slow and spacey but I'm sure it was overwhelming to have everyone there after the ordeal he had gone through. We had a nice visit and chatted about work and married life and all that. I left feeling extremely blessed that prayers were answered.
He was transferred on Saturday to a Physical Therapy Care facility because even with the memory back and eating a bit he still isn't able to come home. The doctors say that home care would just be too much on Mama (which I agree) and since Alzheimers is so unpredictable it is best for everyone that he can have round the clock care. I'll be going to visit him today to check out his new home and visit with him. It's only about 15 minutes from the house so visiting shouldn't be too hard to do!
Thanks again for the prayers, I really believe they have helped us all come through this.
ETA: I found out on Saturday that my cousin's father had passed away. Please keep their family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this difficult time in their life.
