Book It!

I remember growing up always loving to read books. And enjoying the awesome reward of free pizza at Pizza Hut with the illustrious Book It Pin filled with the orange stars attached to my jean jacket. I've always loved to read but that took a vacation when I hit college. I dreaded reading since all that was in front of me was mind-numbing, uninviting Business and Marketing Textbooks. I stopped reading for a few years and I forgot how much I missed it! It wasn't until Feb this year that I decided to get back on the Book It train and indulge in some wonderful books. I set a goal on Feb. 6,2008 to read 25 books by the end of the year. I've surpassed that with a month and a half to go and I'm loving every minute of it. Sure my reading took a little time off when I became newly obsessed with crafting again but I spend my lunch breaks with either my head in a book or a hook and yarn in my hand.

Here's what I've read thus far:

1. Bright Lights, Big Ass: A Self-Indulgent, Surly, Ex-Sorority Girl's Guide to Why it Often Sucks in the City, or Who are These Idiots and Why Do They All Live Next Door to Me? Jen Lancaster
2. The Nanny Diaries Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
3. Bitter is the New Black: Confessions of a Condescending, egomaniacal, self-centered Smart-ass, or why you should never carry a Prada Bag to the unemployment office Jen Lancaster
4. The Friday Night Knitting Club Kate Jacobs
5. The Glass Castle Jeannette Walls
6. The Secret Life of Bees Sue Monk Kidd
7. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone J.K. Rowling
8. Into the Wild Jon Krakauer
9. Confessions of a Shopaholic Sophie Kinsella
10. Running with Scissors Augusten Burroughs
11. Such a Pretty Fat: One Narcissist's Quest To Discover if Her Life Makes Her Ass LookBig, Or Why Pie is Not The Answer Jen Lancaster
12. The Corset Diaries Kate MacAlister
13. Shopaholic takes Manhattan Sophie Kinsella
14. Bringing Home the Birkin: My Life in Hot Pursuit of the World's Most Coveted Handbag Michael Tonello
15. there's a (slight) change i might be going to hell: a novel of sewer pipes, pageant queens, and big trouble Laurie Notaro
16. Shopaholic ties the Knot Sophie Kinsella
17. Remember Me? Sophie Kinsella
18. The Undomestic Goddess Sophie Kinsella

25. Shopaholic and Baby Sophie Kinsella
26. Two for the Dough Janet Evanovich
27. My Horizontal Life Chelsea Handler
28. Twilight Stephanie Meyer (Read all 600 pages in 4 days- this was excellent!)
